Adventuring societies are closer to a guild, but their stated purpose is to gather the resources of many adventurers, and provide aid to members in need across the continent. Like a guild, they are funded by dues and commissions from local/state governments. Members of an adventuring society are your everyday adventurers and thrill-seekers. These are the men and women who hunt through lost catacombs and derelict castles for treasure.
